construction process

Almost every day I had a work that need to be done until I cannot focus on my FYP.
This week contains a lot of presentation, assignment and test. I hope I can manage all this task well.

By the way back to the FYP.

I'd got new task which are to look forward on integration for design software and integration from Microsoft software.

But for now I will not get more deep into those integration yet. I need to know the flow of process in a construction first.

here are the flow that I found during the construction period :-

Bloom's Taxonomy

Remembering: can the student recall or remember the information?define, duplicate, list, memorize, recall, repeat, reproduce state
Understanding: can the student explain ideas or concepts?classify, describe, discuss, explain, identify, locate, recognize, report, select, translate, paraphrase
Applying: can the student use the information in a new way?choose, demonstrate, dramatize, employ, illustrate, interpret, operate, schedule, sketch, solve, use, write.
Analyzing: can the student distinguish between the different parts?appraise, compare, contrast, criticize, differentiate, discriminate, distinguish, examine, experiment, question, test.
Evaluating: can the student justify a stand or decision?appraise, argue, defend, judge, select, support, value, evaluate
Creating: can the student create new product or point of view?assemble, construct, create, design, develop, formulate, write.

Here's a really simple adapted 'at-a-glance' representation of Bloom's Taxonomy :-

Cognitive
knowledge
1. Recall data
2. Understand
3. Apply (use)
4. Analyse (structure/elements)
5. Synthesize (create/build)
6. Evaluate (assess, judge in relational terms)

Affective
attitude
1. Receive (awareness)
2. Respond (react)
3. Value (understand and act)
4. Organise personal value system
5. Internalize value system (adopt behaviour)

Psychomotor
skills
1. Imitation (copy)
2. Manipulation (follow instructions)
3. Develop Precision
4. Articulation (combine, integrate related skills)
5. Naturalization (automate, become expert)

IBS & PPMS definition

Collecting the definition of Industrial Building System and Project Performance Monitoring System. However I am still not fully understand about the PPMS is all about. I just know a rough detail about it which is the PPMS is a system that help project manager to control and monitor the project itself.

Definition :-

Industrial Building System (IBS) :

a construction system where components are manufactured at factories on or off site, transported and then
assembled into a structure with minimum work.

5 commonly used IBS types in Malaysia are:

  • Precast concrete framing, panel and box systems.
  • Steel framework systems.
  • Prefabricated timber framing systems.
  • Steel framing systems.
  • Blockwork systems

Project Performance Monitoring System (PPMS) :

Project Performance Monitoring System (PPMS) that aims to assist project managers in exercising construction project control. With the aid of a panel of project management specialists, the following project performance measure categories are identified for inclusion in the PPMS: People, Cost, Time, Quality, Safety and Health, Environment, Client Satisfaction, and Communication. For each of the performance measure categories, performance indicators and their measurements are also established. The monitoring process is automated through the use of the World Wide Web and database technology. Data collection and dissemination are similarly automated. The use of the PPMS can help senior project management, project directors, project managers, etc., in monitoring and assessing project performance.Sai On Cheung(2004)
